November in the Aosta Valley: the joy of experiencing the mountains, with local flavours, music and the first hints of the festive season

November is the time when autumn slowly gives way to winter, the woods retain their last warm colours and the first snowfalls turn the mountain peaks white.

30/10/2026

November is the perfect time to discover a different side to the Aosta Valley, amidst the last colours of autumn, the first snowfalls on the peaks, traditional flavours and the atmosphere that heralds the arrival of winter.

From Aosta to Courmayeur, and on to La Thuile: three destinations to enjoy through events, culinary experiences and moments of relaxation, with Alpissima’s hospitality.

Aosta: the historic centre is getting ready for Christmas

Stroll through the streets of Aosta’s historic centre, discover the Roman monuments and treat yourself to a break from shopping and fine dining: November is the perfect time to experience the city at a leisurely pace.

The Hotel Duca d’Aosta, overlooking Piazza Narbonne, and the OMAMA Social Hotel, in the heart of the city, are the ideal starting points for exploring Aosta and its autumn events.

On Sunday 8 November, the Saint-Martin de Corléans neighbourhood celebrates its patron saint with an antiques and second-hand market, followed in the afternoon by a traditional chestnut roast. From 6 to 8 November, meanwhile, the Puro Cioccolato Festival invites you to discover the city’s sweetest side.

From 21 November, Piazza Chanoux is transformed by the Marché Vert Noël: wooden stalls, crafts, decorations and culinary specialities bring all the magic of Christmas markets to the historic centre.

And if you fancy some fun on the ice, we look forward to seeing you at the ice rink in Piazza Narbonne, right in front of the Hotel Duca d’Aosta, where you can enjoy some leisure time with young and old alike.

Your stay can also be an opportunity to discover the castles of the Aosta Valley, precious reminders of the region’s history dotted along the central valley.

Courmayeur: music, wellness and fine food at the foot  of Mont Blanc

In Courmayeur, November brings a more intimate atmosphere, amongst the streets of the town centre, the autumnal-coloured woods and the first snow-capped peaks.

The Gran Baita Luxury Alpine Resort is the ideal retreat for treating yourself to a wellness break at the spa and discovering the culinary offerings of La Sapinière restaurant.

It’s also the perfect time to indulge in traditional Aosta Valley specialities: from Lard d’Arnad PDO to Jambon de Bosses PDO, from alpine cheeses to local wines.

Furthermore, on Saturday 7 November, music will take centre stage with ‘Autunno in Musica’: at the Pavillon station of Skyway Monte Bianco, at an altitude of 2,173 metres, the Aosta Valley singer-songwriter Mikol Frachey will take the audience on a journey combining music and extraordinary views.

La Thuile: ready for the snow season

In La Thuile, November is a month of anticipation. In December, in fact, Vedette – The Front Line of Mont Blanc, the ski resort’s new cable car, will be inaugurated. With its 74 cabins, it will offer skiers and hikers a unique panoramic experience, bringing them face to face with the majesty of Mont Blanc, with a 360° view that also takes in Monte Rosa and the Matterhorn.

In the heart of the resort, Le Miramonti Hotel & Wellness is preparing to welcome guests for a new season, with its charming surroundings where they can rediscover the pleasure of relaxation after a day in the mountains.
